Role Overview

The Senior Program Manager will be a pivotal leader within our client’s TechOps business organization. This remote-first position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in the airline domain to bridge the gap between complex technical solutions and strategic business objectives. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of technology initiatives, ensuring that every project aligns with the overarching goals of the enterprise while maintaining the highest standards of performance and security. Candidates should have expertise in the software development lifecycle, familiarity with Agile methodologies, and the ability to provide technical leadership for complex, large-scale systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with senior leadership to define and execute IT strategies that support the TechOps business unit.
  • Team Leadership: Direct a multi-functional team of developers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee external vendor development teams, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and project timelines.
  • Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor for both junior and senior staff, guiding career development and technical skill acquisition.
  • Resource Planning: Conduct long-term resource forecasting to ensure the availability of necessary talent for upcoming project phases.
  • Agile Governance: Champion Agile and DevOps methodologies across the organization to streamline delivery and improve software quality.
  • Strategy Participation: Participate actively in future strategy, goals, objectives, and operational performance.
  • Organizational Assessment: Assess and recommend improvements to the organization’s structure, roles, and responsibilities.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive experience with SaaS and customer-facing application development.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architectures, specifically AWS and Azure environments.
  • Proficiency in enterprise integration patterns, including APIs and microservices.
  • Proven track record in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to design scalable and reliable system architectures for large-scale operations.
  • Well-versed in Agile development and requirements management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in application development.
  • 10-15 years of leadership experience managing large, cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

The airline industry presents unique challenges, including high-availability requirements and complex regulatory environments. The Senior Program Manager must navigate these complexities, ensuring that all technical solutions are robust enough to handle the demands of modern aviation operations. This includes managing legacy system integrations alongside modern cloud-native applications. You will be expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives, staying abreast of emerging technologies like AI and machine learning that could provide a competitive edge in the TechOps space. Compensation & Location

Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
