Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe QA Engineer with a strong background in Manual Testing to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting our enterprise transactional systems and ensuring the highest quality of our software products. The position is based in Columbus, OH, with a hybrid work model, and is a W2 employment type. A LinkedIn profile is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for mainframe applications.
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, and integration testing, to identify defects and ensure software quality.
  • Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback.
  • Participate in Agile/SDLC processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Utilize JIRA and qTest for defect tracking, test case management, and reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for identified defects and work with the development team to resolve them.
  • Ensure all testing activities are well-documented and adhere to established standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
  • Communicate test progress, results, and risks effectively to project management and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of functional testing experience, preferably within the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domain.
  • Proven experience working with complex mainframe environments.
  • Strong expertise in Mainframe Testing tools and technologies, including COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
  • Proficiency in Test Planning & Execution.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience with test management tools like qTest is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • LinkedIn Profile is mandatory.

Domain Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Banking / Financial Services / Insurance domain functional testing.

Compensation & Location
