About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Scrum Master to join our team, supporting critical initiatives within the electric utility, energy, transmission, or infrastructure domains. In this role, you will work closely with the Transmission core team, including developers, engineers, QA analysts, Product Owners, and shared service resources, to facilitate the estimation, planning, and execution of backlog items. Your primary focus will be on ensuring smooth software deliveries for Transmission tooling, encompassing enhancements, defect resolution, new feature development, technical debt management, and compliance/security updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrum Ceremonies Facilitation: Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and effective.
  • Agile Coaching: Coach teams on Agile principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and self-organization to foster a high-performing Agile environment. Ensure Scrum practices align with enterprise Agile frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid models.
  • Backlog Management Support: Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure clear backlog refinement, effective prioritization of user stories, and well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Transmission Domain Support: Provide dedicated Scrum Master support to delivery teams working on key transmission initiatives, including transmission planning and engineering, substation and line design, construction and outage coordination, asset condition monitoring and maintenance, and grid modernization and reliability programs.
  • Cross-functional Alignment: Help teams understand and manage dependencies across operations, engineering, IT, regulatory, and field services. Ensure a balance between Agile delivery and critical regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements (e.g., NERC, FERC).
  • Impediment Removal & Risk Management: Proactively identify, escalate, and facilitate the removal of impediments that hinder team progress. Manage risks related to resource availability, vendor dependencies, data readiness, and operational constraints. Facilitate alignment between business stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Track and communicate key Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, cycle time, and delivery predictability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and across the organization.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master, facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching Agile teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
  • Experience working within the electric utility, energy, transmission, or infrastructure domains is essential.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements such as NERC and FERC.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify and remove impediments and manage risks effectively.
  • Experience with Agile metrics and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
