Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with strong backend development expertise and hands-on knowledge of modern Python web frameworks. The candidate will work across the development stack and collaborate with small Agile teams to build and maintain scalable applications. This is a contract role for 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Python.
- Build and maintain REST-based services using frameworks such as Flask, Django, or aiohttp.
- Work across the full stack in an Agile development environment.
- Develop and maintain scalable APIs and backend services.
- Deploy and manage Python-based applications.
- Write unit tests and follow best software engineering practices.
- Use Git-based version control for code management.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Python development.
- Experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask, Django, or aiohttp.
- Experience working with REST APIs and backend frameworks.
- Knowledge of Python libraries including NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Polars, Plotly, dill, pycld2, SciKit-Learn, NLTK, Gensim, spaCy, iPython, pymongo, Gunicorn, and nGinx.
- Experience working in Agile environments and small development teams.
- Knowledge of Python deployment methods.
- Experience with version control using Git and writing unit tests.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:
This position is located in Austin, TX, and requires 5 days onsite. The contract duration is 6 months.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $65 – $85 per year (Estimated)
