Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and troubleshooting related to Zscaler SDWAN, ZPA, ZIA, ZCC.
  • Implementation and troubleshooting related to Cisco Wireless.
  • Configuring policies, IP Sec VPN, DHCP pools, host entry, SSLVPN settings, and SSLVPN portals in Firewalls.
  • Responsible for providing L3 troubleshooting support for Managed Security Devices (Firewalls).
  • Maintain and operate firewall security management platforms, including OS upgrades.
  • Assess security advisories and software vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans.
  • Develop and maintain support and user documentation and processes.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities for laborious and/or repetitive processes.
  • Incident, change, and problem management.
  • Technical hands-on experience on network security operation management.
  • Strong technical ability to troubleshoot in large enterprises involving complex network application flows.

Job Title: Sr AWS Infrastructure Engineer

Huntington Bank is looking for a Sr AWS Infrastructure Engineer for their Columbus, Ohio or Dallas, TX locations. This is a Contract to Hire role after 3 months. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building, operating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, with a strong focus on Kubernetes administration and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing Data Science Infrastructure operations.
  • Develop and deploy AWS environments using CI/CD processes.
  • Manage and support large-scale environments for Data Science teams.
  • Champion and mature the environment by implementing and overseeing the image management lifecycle process.
  • Assist in setting up and managing AWS accounts specifically for the Data Science platform.
  • Provide hands-on development using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for environment setup and management.
  • Develop scripts and applications using programming languages such as Python.
  • Manage database technologies including Athena, Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres.
  • Leverage AWS services essential for Data Lake, Data Science, AI/ML teams.
  • Handle and resolve requests from development and business users.
  • Manage secured infrastructure, enforce security measures, and apply necessary guard rails.
  • Resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities within SLAs and maintain audit logs.
  • Perform system upgrades and patching, providing on-call support as needed.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Collaborate with Network, Database, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience in Data Science Infrastructure.
  • 2+ years extensive experience with Data Lake, Data Science, and AI/ML services hosted on AWS infrastructure.
  • 2+ years working knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS services (SageMaker, Glue, Lambda, Athena), CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps), IaC tools (Terraform), Docker and ECR, Security tools (AQUA and Kenna).
  • 2+ years experience in technical write-ups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS and Terraform certified professionals. Kubernetes or CKA.
  • Familiarity with technical service management and product life cycle maintenance.
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of database technologies like Athena, Oracle, MySQL.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD and IaC tools such as Azure DevOps and Terraform.

What we need:

  • An engineer who has spent the majority of their career building, operating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes administration: deploying clusters, managing nodes, networking, RBAC, persistent storage, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code – primarily Terraform – to provision and manage AWS resources programmatically.
  • CI/CD pipeline ownership: building and maintaining pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
  • Security-first mindset: IAM policies, security groups, VPCs, audit logging, vulnerability remediation within SLAs.
  • Ability to support Data Science and AI/ML platform infrastructure (e.g., Shakudo on EKS, SAS Viya on Kubernetes).
  • Experience with AWS services: EKS, ECR, SageMaker (infra layer), Lambda, Athena, Glue.
  • Database infrastructure support: Athena, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres.

What we DON’T need:

  • A Data Scientist or ML Engineer who has ‘used AWS’.
  • A Data Engineer who knows Spark, Glue jobs, or ETL pipelines.
  • A Cloud Developer who writes Lambda functions or application code.
  • Anyone whose primary Kubernetes experience is running kubectl commands without understanding the underlying cluster architecture.
  • Candidates with AWS certifications but no hands-on production infrastructure experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and operate AWS EKS clusters that host Shakudo and SAS Viya.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Manage container image lifecycle via Amazon ECR.
  • Set up and maintain AWS accounts for the Data Science platform.
  • Respond to infrastructure incidents within SLA.
  • Perform Kubernetes cluster upgrades, node patching, and security remediation.
  • Support Data Scientists by unblocking infrastructure issues.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions within the platform team.
  • Collaborate with Network, Database, Architecture, and Security teams.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
