Job Title: DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. This role requires a candidate who is local to the Austin area or nearby, with a hybrid work model involving 3 days remote and 2 days onsite (Mondays and Thursdays) at the specified location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, and implement solutions to optimize them.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system stability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across the infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources on AWS or GCP.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
  • Develop and maintain scripting for automation and operational tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support 24×7 production environments.
  • Document operational procedures, runbooks, and system architecture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems and system internals.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Bash.
  • Experience designing and operating highly available, distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and their associated cloud-native services.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, and logging concepts.
  • Experience defining and managing Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets.
  • Familiarity with incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems.
  • Experience integrating security and compliance into operational workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights, Datadog, or Splunk.
  • Experience operating 24×7 production environments with on-call rotations.
  • Experience with chaos engineering and resiliency testing.
  • Experience with feature flags, canary deployments, and progressive delivery strategies.
  • Strong documentation skills for creating runbooks, dashboards, and operational standards.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work model: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Mondays and Thursdays).
  • Must be local to the Austin, TX area or nearby.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Austin, TX
