Job Title: UI Architect

Location: Reston, VA – 100% ONSITE

Duration: 6 months

Must-Have Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Core UI & Front End Architecture:
    • Strong experience architecting scalable, high-performance UI solutions delivering exceptional customer experiences.
    • 5+ years of hands-on React experience building enterprise-scale applications.
    • 2+ years of experience with Remix or Next.js, including SSR, routing, and performance optimization.
    • Deep understanding of UI architecture principles, component design, state management, and modular front-end patterns.
    • Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale, consumer-facing web applications.
    • Strong command of web fundamentals including HTML, CSS, accessibility, browser performance, and security best practices.
  • AI Driven & Intelligent UI Skills:
    • Experience integrating or developing with LLMs and Generative AI services in front-end or full-stack environments.
    • Strong understanding of prompt engineering concepts and interaction design for AI-powered interfaces.
    • Experience architecting AI inference-aware UI systems, including latency-sensitive rendering and streaming responses.
    • Ability to design intelligent UI flows, including conversational, adaptive, and personalized user journeys.
    • Familiarity with AI safety, governance, and responsible AI considerations in customer-facing applications.
    • Experience developing AI-powered front-end systems, including copilots, assistants, and AI-driven design systems.
    • Knowledge of AI-based analytics and telemetry to track user behavior, performance, and AI effectiveness.
  • Cloud, Platform & Engineering Practices:
    • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
    • Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud-based UI architectures.
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and automated quality gates.
    • Working knowledge of Node.js for front-end platform enablement.
    • Experience with Sitecore or headless CMS platforms is preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • UI Architecture & Technical Leadership:
    • Architect and design enterprise-grade UI platforms that are scalable, maintainable, and performant.
    • Partner with other architects to define and evolve the front-end technical strategy and reference architectures.
    • Establish UI architectural standards, coding guidelines, and reusable design patterns across teams.
    • Drive technical decisions that balance innovation, user experience, and long-term maintainability.
    • Mentor and guide development teams on UI architecture, framework usage, and implementation best practices.
  • AI Augmented UI Platform Responsibilities:
    • Define and implement AI-augmented UI architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
    • Integrate LLMs and GenAI services into customer-facing and internal digital tools.
    • Design and evolve AI-driven design systems and intelligent component libraries.
    • Establish spec-driven development workflows leveraging AI for improved speed and quality.
    • Lead the AI front-end platform strategy, including framework selection and governance.
    • Partner with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Product teams to deliver intelligent, compliant, and scalable UI solutions.

Generic Managerial Skills:

  • Collaborates with IT Delivery teams (platform/component architects, technical leads), Release Management, and PMs to ensure all dependencies are resolved and features delivered in one project do not impact other projects.
  • Drives systems integration, including defining the interface/technical design specification and documenting the end-to-end data flow via established methodologies, templates, and tools.
