Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer (L3) with a strong background in Python and AWS to provide first-line and advanced technical support for a critical clinical data management application. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability and performance of our AWS-based application hosting and requires a candidate with a solid understanding of healthcare/pharma domains. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendors, and supporting deployment activities within agile sprint cycles.
Role Descriptions:
- Provide first-line and advanced technical support for a clinical data management application.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document issues related to Python-based integrations and PostgreSQL database.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure stable AWS-based application hosting.
- Support deployment activities and application upgrades in agile sprint cycles.
- Apply ITIL principles to manage incidents, problems, and changes efficiently.
- Maintain detailed documentation and knowledge base for recurring issues and fixes.
- Proactively monitor application health and performance using cloud and data tools.
- Communicate solutions and updates effectively to stakeholders and users.
Essential Skills:
- Primary: Python (for integration troubleshooting and support), AWS Cloud (infrastructure hosting and operations), Clinical Data Management Knowledge.
- Secondary: PostgreSQL (backend database management & analysis), Monitoring & Logging Tools (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK Stack), ITIL Framework (incident, change, and problem management), Agile Methodology (deployment and support processes), Apache Airflow.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in healthcare/pharma domains is a must.
Additional Information:
This is a long-term, onsite engagement in Chicago Ridge, IL, starting from day one. The role requires 8+ years of relevant experience. Keywords include Python, AWS Cloud Computing, and Illinois.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $55 – $75 per hour (Estimated)
