Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bentonville, AR. This role is critical for designing, developing, and supporting our next-generation backend and data engineering solutions. As a Senior Engineer, you will leverage a robust tech stack including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and various streaming technologies to build scalable, high-performance data pipelines that drive business intelligence and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex data processing pipelines using Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Develop scalable backend systems using a variety of programming languages including Java, J2EE, Python, and Scala.
- Promote and uphold high standards for code quality, system reliability, and performance scalability across the organization.
- Execute sophisticated data modeling and manage large-scale data migration protocols between disparate systems.
- Architect and support cloud-native solutions on major platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
- Integrate complex systems using advanced orchestration and scheduling tools like Automic and Apache Airflow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data warehousing and BI solutions, ensuring data accessibility and integrity.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, Spark (Core, Streaming, SQL), and Kafka.
- Proficiency in at least one core programming language: Scala, Python, or Java.
- Proven track record in developing backend systems with J2EE technologies.
- Solid experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically GCP or Azure data services.
- Deep understanding of relational and non-relational data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Automic and Airflow.
- Preferred exposure to GCP-based data platforms and modern BI tools.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
