Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Cloud Architect for a long-term contract position in Columbus, OH. This role is fully onsite and involves working with a direct client to design and implement sophisticated data solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting data pipelines, selecting appropriate GCP services, and managing large-scale migrations from on-premises or other cloud environments. As a lead architect, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Designing Data Solutions: Architecting data pipelines that handle the ingestion, transformation, storage, and analysis of data at scale.
- Technology Selection: Choosing the right mix of GCP services such as Bigtable, AlloyDB, BigQuery, Firestore, and Firebase to meet specific business requirements.
- Real-time Data Processing: Implementing solutions using Dataflow and Pub/Sub for real-time data ingestion and processing.
- Migration Strategy: Leading the migration of existing on-premises or other cloud NoSQL and SQL workloads to GCP, specifically focusing on AlloyDB.
- Data Modeling: Structuring data for optimal storage and query performance, including both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) models.
- Governance and Security: Implementing robust security measures, data access controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant data regulations and industry standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with business leaders and technical teams to translate requirements into technical architectures.
- Performance Optimization: Monitoring and tuning cloud resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and high performance.
- Documentation: Creating detailed architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and best practice guidelines for the engineering teams.
Technical Requirements
The successful candidate must have a proven track record as a Cloud Architect with a focus on Google Cloud Platform. Expertise in GCP’s data ecosystem is essential, including BigQuery, AlloyDB, and Cloud Spanner. You should have significant experience in data modeling and database design, with the ability to choose between SQL and NoSQL solutions based on use-case requirements. Experience with migration tools and strategies for moving legacy workloads to the cloud is a must. Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including IAM, VPC service controls, and encryption, is required. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical teams through complex architectural challenges are vital for success in this role. This position requires a full-time onsite presence in Columbus, Ohio.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
