Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This critical role involves planning, implementing, and managing advanced security measures to protect DRC data, systems, and networks. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in network security and a proactive approach to threat detection and vulnerability management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust security protocols to safeguard infrastructure and sensitive data.
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond immediately to security breaches.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
  • Perform scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scans across servers, endpoints, and network devices.
  • Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk and exploitability.
  • Collaborate with IT and application teams to coordinate patches and verify successful remediation.
  • Tune scanning tools to reduce false positives and improve the accuracy of security data.
  • Develop comprehensive vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports for leadership.
  • Establish and maintain security best practices and standards across the organization.
  • Upgrade existing security measures and systems to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in Network Security and threat detection.
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in incident response and vulnerability management.
  • Expert-level proficiency in administering Qualys for enterprise-wide security scanning.
  • Extensive experience with remediation documentation and complex patch management processes.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Proven ability to manage security projects from inception through to completion.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is highly desired.
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Work Environment and Location

This is an onsite position located in Columbus, Ohio. Candidates must be local or reside within a one-hour drive of the facility. Work will primarily take place in Franklin or Madison County. The interview process includes a video screening followed by a mandatory face-to-face interview at a location to be determined after initial screening.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Columbus, OH
