Role Overview: Quality Assurance Specialist 3

Cloud Shift Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist 3 (QAS3) to support the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety (DPS) in Columbus, OH. This is a critical hybrid role requiring onsite presence every third day at the 1970 W. Broad Street facility. As a QAS3, you will be at the forefront of designing, piloting, and implementing a robust software quality assurance review process. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and security of software systems used by the state, ensuring that every production deployment meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Proactively engage in the end-to-end software testing lifecycle, ensuring all project milestones are met with precision.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA Manager to align testing strategies with organizational goals and project objectives.
  • Contribute to the establishment of quality metrics and apply industry best practices to develop new tools and processes.
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases, scripts, and procedures for both manual and automated testing environments.
  • Work with the ODPS project team to test updates, patches, and repairs across development, test, and QA environments.
  • Develop and promote software changes to production following the best practices and standards defined by the ODPS ITO.
  • Take corrective actions to resolve testing issues, ensuring applications perform as required and meet user expectations.
  • Design and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and C# within a Page Object Model (POM) framework.
  • Facilitate work sessions and meetings, demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet assigned deadlines while working independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Technical Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation testing using MS Visual Studio, C#, and Selenium.
  • Proven expertise in developing and maintaining automated tests using the Page Object Model (POM).
  • Extensive experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager (MTM).
  • Strong background in converting manual test cases into efficient automation scripts.
  • At least 5 years of experience conducting test case reviews to ensure business functionality is accurately captured.
  • Proficiency with Azure App Insights for logging and tracking application issues.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working within Agile/Scrum IT project environments.
  • Strong coding and scripting skills in C# are mandatory for this position.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills across functional business lines.

Environment and Compliance

The selected candidate must demonstrate technical and functional competence during the interview process with ODPS staff. This role involves a rigorous background check conducted by the Department of Public Safety. Candidates must be local to the Columbus, OH area or willing to relocate, as the hybrid schedule requires regular onsite attendance. The position demands a high level of productivity and a commitment to continuous improvement in testing methodologies to support the state’s critical infrastructure.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $98,000 – $138,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Columbus, OH
