Role Overview: Software Developer 3 (Appian Specialist)

AE Talents Inc is currently seeking a highly qualified and certified Software Developer 3 for a long-term W2 engagement based in Austin, Texas. This position is situated within a high-impact project environment at 9500 Metric Boulevard, focusing on the digital transformation of government acquisition systems. The ideal candidate will be an Appian Certified Developer with a proven track record of designing and deploying sophisticated business applications using Appian’s low-code platform. As a senior-level developer, you will be expected to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior staff, and ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, develop, and implement robust Appian applications utilizing SAIL (Self-Assembling Interface Layer) and complex Process Models to automate critical business workflows.
  • Build and maintain seamless integrations with external enterprise systems and third-party services via REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Optimize user interface (UI) performance and responsiveness to ensure a superior end-user experience across web and mobile platforms.
  • Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to maintain code integrity and system reliability throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate extensively with business analysts, project stakeholders, and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to validate requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to maintain project velocity and transparency.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and production support for existing Appian applications, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in real-time.
  • Ensure all development work adheres to established security protocols and architectural best practices.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on Agile methodologies and iterative delivery.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically within the Appian ecosystem or comparable enterprise-grade low-code development platforms.
  • Mandatory Appian Level 2 Senior Developer Certification; candidates must provide verification of this certification during the submission process.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and implementing complex analytical solutions and data-driven applications.
  • Strong proficiency in web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, to extend the native capabilities of the Appian platform.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with GAMS (Government Acquisition Management Suite) is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for formal education.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $135,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
