Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer L3 to join our technical team onsite in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is a critical role focused on the design, implementation, and optimization of complex enterprise network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco technologies, specifically within the Nexus switching family and Virtual Switching System (VSS) environments. As a Level 3 engineer, you will serve as a technical escalation point, handling the most challenging network issues and driving architectural improvements to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy robust network architectures utilizing Cisco Nexus 6000, 7000, and 9000 series switches.
- Implement and manage Cisco Virtual Switching System (VSS) to ensure high availability and simplified management.
- Configure and troubleshoot Virtual Port Channels (vPC) and Virtual Device Contexts (VDCs) to optimize data center traffic.
- Lead Nexus NX-OS device integration and major hardware/software upgradation services.
- Manage F5 Load Balancers, including complex configuration, day-to-day operations, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Support and configure Cisco Wireless technologies to provide seamless connectivity across the campus.
- Maintain and optimize DMVPN setups, ensuring secure and efficient WAN communications.
- Develop comprehensive network documentation, including topologies, IP schemes, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams (Server, Storage, Security) to align network infrastructure with business goals.
- Proactively monitor network health using tools like SolarWinds or PRTG to identify and mitigate risks before they impact users.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and NX-OS operating systems.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale data center refreshes and technology migrations.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, including ACLs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS integration.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are highly desirable and preferred.

Onsite requirement in Poughkeepsie, NY; Cisco CCNP/CCIE highly desirable.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
