Position Summary: SAP Costing & Controlling Functional Analyst
Quantum World Technologies is looking for an expert SAP Finance Costing Functional Analyst to support a major client in Austin, Texas. This onsite contract position focuses on SAP ECC FI/CO, with a specialized emphasis on the Costing and Controlling modules. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert who can bridge the gap between financial business processes and technical SAP configurations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and driving continuous process improvements within the finance and supply chain domains.
Core Responsibilities and Functional Duties
- Configure and maintain SAP ECC Controlling (CO) modules, including Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM-CCA), Internal Orders (CO-OM-OPA), and Product Costing (CO-PC).
- Manage the end-to-end product costing lifecycle, including material costing, cost object controlling, and overhead calculations.
- Lead Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) initiatives, supporting both costing-based and account-based models.
- Oversee standard and actual costing processes, variance analysis, and cost flow validation to ensure FICO integration integrity.
- Support critical financial periods including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to costing and controlling.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to gather requirements and translate them into functional designs.
- Identify process gaps and recommend SAP best-practice improvements to enhance financial transparency and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with ABAP developers to design and test custom reports, interfaces, and enhancements.
- Develop comprehensive functional documentation, process flows, and training materials for end-users.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ECC FI/CO, specifically within the Costing and Controlling modules.
- Deep expertise in Product Costing (Standard and Actual) and Cost Center Accounting.
- Strong understanding of FICO integration points with MM, PP, and SD modules.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of working independently or in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience and S/4HANA Readiness
- SAP FI/CO Certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, high-tech, or supply chain industries.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Finance concepts, including the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and Account-Based CO-PA.
- Prior experience with ECC to S/4HANA migration projects or readiness assessments.
- Exposure to SAP Fiori financial applications is a significant plus.
Special Requirements
Onsite requirement in Austin, TX. Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance concepts is preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
