Position Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Controls Engineer to join a global manufacturing innovator in the Columbus, Ohio area. This is a permanent, onsite position located in the Polaris district, offering the chance to work on custom machine automation systems for a diverse range of industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation projects, from initial design and schematic development to final commissioning and onsite testing.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive electrical and pneumatic schematics for custom automation machinery.
- Program and integrate PLC systems and industrial robotics to meet specific customer requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to define system specifications and hardware/software integration strategies.
- Integrate various components including motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and safety hardware.
- Perform onsite testing, debugging, and commissioning of industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing automation systems.
- Manage project documentation, including BOMs, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
- Participate in international travel (less than 10%) for project installations and client consultations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls Design Engineering.
- Strong focus on PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and Robotics integration (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka).
- Extensive experience in the design, development, and testing of industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency in creating electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate with global clients.
- Willingness to undergo a Face-to-Face interview process in Columbus, OH.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $110,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
