Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Writer to join our team for a long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating a wide range of technical documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and usability for our products and services. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate complex information into easily understandable content for various audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop, write, edit, and update various technical materials, including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and online help content. Ensure all content is accurate, comprehensive, and adheres to established style guides.
  • Information Gathering: Proactively study product samples, thoroughly review technical specifications, and conduct interviews with subject-matter experts (SMEs) to gain a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Audience Analysis: Analyze the target audience’s technical skill level and needs to tailor the language, tone, and complexity of the documentation, ensuring it is appropriate and accessible.
  • Visual Integration: Create, gather, or develop graphs, diagrams, screenshots, and illustrations to effectively enhance user comprehension and engagement with the documentation.
  • Editing and Standardization: Review, edit, and format all documentation to ensure consistency in tone, style, and structure across all materials. Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Regularly update, maintain, and archive existing documentation to accurately reflect product changes, bug fixes, new features, and evolving user requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with product developers, engineers, UX designers, customer support teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and validate the accuracy and completeness of the content.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in Content Creation, including writing, editing, and updating technical materials such as user manuals, installation guides, release notes, FAQs, and online help content.
  • Demonstrated ability in Documentation Maintenance, including updating, maintaining, and archiving documentation to reflect product changes and new features.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including product developers, engineers, and UX designers.
  • Familiarity with user experience principles and information technology best practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Location: Onsite in San Antonio, TX or Plano, TX.
  • Duration: Long Term.
