Role Overview:
Seeking a Senior MongoDB DBA with expertise in configuring, managing, and securing MongoDB environments. This role involves hands-on experience with replica sets, sharded clusters, and ensuring high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure MongoDB replica set and sharded clusters as per application requirements.
- Setup and onboard replica sets & sharded clusters on to Ops-Mgr using MongoDB BRS & Ops-Mgr.
- Enhance MongoDB security using X509 and TLS authentication to comply with security standards.
- Automate backup/restore/monitoring jobs using Python and scripting.
- Design, install & configure multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters & replica sets on Linux Platforms.
- Add/remove replica and shard nodes in MongoDB Cluster as needed.
- Create Text Index for querying specific documents with string content.
- Ensure even distribution of data across multiple shards by managing shard keys.
- Convert replicaSet to sharded cluster due to data size growth and better query rate planning.
- Perform upgrades/migrations of replicaSet and Sharded cluster from 4.0 to 4.xx.
- Deploy, migrate data, monitor, analyze, and tune MongoDB.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of Ops Manager and Ops Manager Upgrade.
- Manage Groups and Projects in Ops Manager.
- Configure Authentication and Authorization, including X509 authentication.
- Configure SSL key files to implement security across all mongod instances.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of Mongo replication architecture and change stream.
- Document MongoDB installation, operations, security, and auditing in multiple environments.
- Apply knowledge of Query plan architecture and performance tuning at host and DB level.
- Implement Range based sharding and Hash based sharding/Indexing.
- Migrate Mongo clusters to AWS.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in configuring MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters.
- Experience with MongoDB BRS & Ops-Mgr.
- Strong understanding of MongoDB security features (X509, TLS, SSL).
- Skilled in automating DBA tasks using Python and scripting.
- Experience with multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets on Linux.
- Knowledge of shard key management and data distribution.
- Experience with MongoDB upgrades and migrations (e.g., 4.0 to 4.xx).
- In-depth knowledge of Ops Manager.
- Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and X509 authentication.
- Extensive knowledge of Mongo replication architecture and change stream.
- Experience in performance tuning at host and DB level.
- Knowledge of Range based sharding and Hash based sharding/Indexing.
- Experience migrating MongoDB clusters to AWS.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year
