Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our team for a 6+ month contract role. This position is based in Austin, TX, and is a remote opportunity. The successful candidate will perform advanced analysis involving all aspects of supporting, improving, and enhancing the database and reports for a large project within the Information Technology Statewide Education Data System (IT-SEDS).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced analysis related to database support, improvement, and enhancement.
- Develop and maintain reports for a large project, focusing on the IT-SEDS initiative.
- Write and optimize complex SQL, PL/SQL queries, and stored procedures.
- Devise approaches to solving complex technical problems and provide thought leadership.
- Manage project scope and provide ongoing updates on project status.
- Exhibit a high level of skill in data aggregation and analysis.
- Work across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of created reports.
- Participate in the software development life cycle (SDLC) using an Agile-like approach.
- Perform bug fixing for Core and PEIMS projects.
- Conduct Dev/Unit Testing.
- Document all development work and processes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Stored Procedures.
- Experience with Jasper Reports Development.
- Familiarity with data aggregation and analysis techniques.
- Experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting projects related to education data systems is a plus.
