Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, design, analysis, and performance tuning, with a focus on enterprise applications and services. This role requires a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
- Perform database design, analysis, and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
- Design and develop enterprise applications and services.
- Create comprehensive technical and functional design documentation.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
- Develop and manage multi-tier system/application architectures (e.g., SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications).
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Azure SQL.
- Manage large volume databases, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery infrastructure.
- Configure and adapt database structures for cloud environments, specifically Azure.
- Configure PowerBI environments and develop PowerBI reports.
- Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and build/deployment tools like Git.
- Migrate on-premises databases to cloud environments, preferably Azure.
Required Experience:
- 10 years of experience in database administration.
- 8 years of experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL.
- 8 years of experience in database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
- 8 years of experience designing enterprise applications and/or services.
- 8 years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
- 8 years of experience within the software development lifecycle using Agile methodology (Scrum, for example).
- 8 years of experience with multi-tier system/application development (SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications, for example).
- 3 years of experience with Azure.
Preferred Experience:
- 6 years of experience with Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Azure SQL.
- 4 years of experience with large volume databases, high availability, and disaster recovery infrastructure.
- 4 years of experience in configuring PowerBI environments and developing PowerBI reports.
- 3 years of experience in DevOps technology including CI/CD pipeline and build and deployment tools such as Git.
- 2 years of experience with migrating On-Prem databases to Cloud (preferably Azure).
- Azure certification is preferred but not required.
- DBA Associate certifications are preferred but not required.
Special Requirements
Need TX locals. Hybrid work model. Azure certification preferred. DBA Associate certifications preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
