Job Description: Senior AWS Security Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Security Architect to join our team. This is an urgent requirement for a role based in Austin, TX, requiring a Day 1 Onsite presence, 5 days a week. The duration of the contract is expected to be 12+ months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage robust security solutions on the AWS platform.
  • Ensure the security of databases, including DB Security best practices.
  • Manage and secure file storage and other storage solutions, implementing File Vault/Storage Management & Security Management.
  • Oversee Information Management & Security protocols to protect sensitive data.
  • Implement and maintain Network Security measures to safeguard the infrastructure.
  • Manage Security Certificate Management processes.
  • Conduct thorough Security Testing to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Perform Security Vulnerability Analysis and implement remediation strategies.
  • Ensure Web Application Security, including understanding and implementing Web Application Security and Cryptography principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an AWS Security Architect or similar role.
  • Deep understanding of AWS security services and best practices.
  • Expertise in database security, including encryption, access control, and auditing.
  • Experience with storage security solutions and data protection.
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Proficiency in security certificate management.
  • Experience with security testing methodologies and tools.
  • Solid understanding of web application security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
  • Familiarity with security vulnerability analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.

Additional Information:

  • This role requires candidates to be local to Austin, TX. Non-local candidates will not be considered.
  • Candidates must be Green Card holders or US Citizens.
  • The position is for an onsite role, 5 days a week.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Austin, TX
