Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Test Manager to oversee all testing activities for our client’s software development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing testing processes, leading QA teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, various testing methodologies, and a proven ability to mentor and guide testing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee user acceptance, performance, accessibility, interface, security, and data conversion testing.
- Manage, perform, monitor, and report on test activities on modern technology platforms.
- Review, update, and create test strategy, suites, and cases.
- Document and report test results, data conversion and integration issues/concerns, and problem incident reports (PIRs)/defects status.
- Provide training and mentoring of testing team members.
- Coordinate scheduling of testing staff, test activities, and meetings.
- Utilize test tools such as Jira, Test Savvy, JUnit, Selenium, Microfocus UFT, SQL, etc.
- Demonstrate experience and understanding of the full software life cycle with specific emphasis on the testing discipline.
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Perform performance monitoring using tools such as JProfiler, JMeter, etc.
- Act as the main point of contact between IT Division, business users, and Vendor.
- Lead triage efforts and the tracking, prioritizing, and managing of defects.
- Review defects for themes, conduct root cause analysis, and suggest improvements.
- Provide and review weekly updates on UAT progress and results.
- Provide testing-related project status updates, progress on defects, and check progress on requirement traceability and coverage.
- Ensure UAT exit criteria are met and obtain final sign-off from the business.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Experience working directly with a Texas state agency as an employee or contractor in a QA Test Manager role.
- Experience as a team leader or project manager.
Required Skills:
- 7 years of experience in overseeing user acceptance, performance, accessibility, interface, security, and data conversion testing.
- 7 years of experience in managing, performing, monitoring, and reporting on test activities on modern technology platforms.
- 7 years of experience in reviewing, updating, and creating test strategy, suites, and cases.
- 7 years of experience in documenting and reporting test results, data conversion and integration issues/concerns, and problem incident reports (PIRs)/defects status.
- 7 years of experience in providing training and mentoring of testing team members.
- 7 years of experience in coordinating scheduling of testing staff, test activities, and meetings.
- 7 years of experience with test tools such as Jira, Test Savvy, JUnit, Selenium, Microfocus UFT, SQL, etc.
- 7 years of experience and understanding of the full software life cycle with specific emphasis on the testing discipline.
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- 4 years of experience with Performance monitoring tools such as JProfiler, JMeter, etc.
Special Requirements
Onsite only local to Austin or Texas. Experience working directly with a Texas state agency as an employee or contractor in a QA Test Manager role is preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year
