Role: Software Engineer (VoIP/SIP/C++)

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in VoIP, SIP, and C++ to join our team in Austin, TX. This is an onsite position, and local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software solutions using C/C++ for VoIP systems.
  • Implement and troubleshoot SIP protocol functionalities, including call flows and signaling.
  • Work with VoIP systems and SIP User Agents (UA).
  • Experience with SIP stack implementation.
  • Utilize FreeSWITCH or similar VoIP platforms.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of RTP/RTCP.
  • Manage media handling and codecs for voice communication.
  • Configure and manage SIP gateways and Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to VoIP call flows, signaling, and media.
  • Optimize performance of voice systems.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Hands-on SIP protocol experience (call flows, signaling).
  • VoIP systems experience.
  • SIP stack / SIP User Agent (UA) implementation experience.
  • FreeSWITCH or similar VoIP platform experience.
  • Knowledge of RTP/RTCP.
  • Knowledge of media handling and codecs.
  • Experience with SIP gateways and Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot VoIP call flows, signaling, and media issues.
  • Performance optimization experience for voice systems.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Telecom or unified communications systems experience.
  • Experience with Wireshark for SIP tracing and debugging.
  • Experience in a Linux/Unix development environment.
  • Exposure to real-time communication systems.
