Job Description: Mainframe Tester
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Tester to join our team for a long-term engagement in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mainframe application testing and various testing methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing on mainframe applications, including one or more of COBOL, JCL, MK4, and CICS.
- Execute Smoke Testing, Regression testing, Black box testing, White box testing, and manual and automation testing.
- Apply knowledge of Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering Methodologies.
- Write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures, including test plans and test cases.
- Review and interpret business requirements and design specifications, translating them into test procedures.
- Understand the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Communicate effectively, be self-motivated, organized, thorough, and efficient.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with generating SQL queries and using other data interrogation methods.
- Familiarity with database queries and the ability to create input data and verify data updates.
- Experience in ADA planning and testing.
- Familiarity with Informatica and Change Data Capture (CDC) planning and testing.
- Understanding of Microsoft, Java, and n-tier web technologies.
- Experience in functional testing, and load and stress testing.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry, as well as general compliance and enforcement related projects.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 per year (Estimated)
