Role Overview
The PeopleSoft Techno-Functional Analyst for Benefits Administration (BA) is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end support, enhancement, and optimization of PeopleSoft HCM Benefits modules. This position requires a unique blend of functional HR/Benefits expertise and deep technical development skills within the PeopleSoft ecosystem. As a senior analyst, you will collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, Time & Labor, and IT departments, as well as third-party vendors, to ensure seamless benefits processing and system reliability. This specific engagement seeks candidates with specialized experience working with Airlines and Airport clients, bringing industry-specific knowledge to the technical implementation.
Functional Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive Event Maintenance within the Benefits Administration module, including monitoring, correcting, and finalizing event statuses.
- Manage both On-Demand and Scheduled Event processes to ensure timely enrollment updates.
- Review participation, eligibility, and event-triggered changes to maintain data accuracy.
- Resolve complex event-related errors and enrollment discrepancies through root cause analysis.
- Lead the configuration, testing, and support of PeopleSoft Base Benefits and Benefits Administration.
- Maintain benefit plan setups, eligibility rules, event rules, and event classifications.
- Oversee rates, deduction codes, coverage tiers, and plan updates in alignment with organizational policy.
- Execute annual Open Enrollment cycles, including setup, validation, testing, and deployment.
- Manage COBRA and ACA processing to ensure federal and state compliance.
- Partner with HR Benefits and Payroll teams to gather requirements and implement best-practice solutions.
- Troubleshoot benefit enrollment issues and payroll deduction discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA EDI 834 layout guidelines for vendor data exchange.
- Create detailed functional and technical design documents, test scripts, and training materials.
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and support PeopleSoft customizations and interfaces using PeopleTools and PeopleCode.
- Utilize Application Engine (AE), App Packages, and Component Interfaces for robust system enhancements.
- Implement and maintain Integration Broker for seamless data flow between systems.
- Generate reports and data extracts using SQR, BI Publisher, and PS Query.
- Develop Fluid pages to enhance the user experience for modern HR self-service.
- Maintain and troubleshoot COBOL processes related to benefits and payroll.
- Support PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.5x environments.
- Resolve production issues related to Benefits Administration batch processes.
- Assist with PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) updates and regression testing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HRIS, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft HCM experience, specifically in Base Benefits and Benefits Administration.
- Strong understanding of benefit plan configuration, eligibility, and payroll interactions.
- Expertise in PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQL, and technical troubleshooting.
- Experience with PeopleSoft NA Payroll and Time & Labor is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and stakeholder management.
- Detail-oriented analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Special Requirements
Airlines and Airport Clients experience required; 6 months duration.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
