Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe AS400 Developer with over 12 years of experience for a long-term contract opportunity in Phoenix, AZ. The role requires expertise in JDA MMS and AS400/IBM i batch processing, with a focus on system enhancements, troubleshooting, and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of retail merchandising processes and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical and functional expert for JDA MMS, covering items, pricing, promotions, markdowns, inventory, and sales audit.
- Manage AS400/IBM i batch processing, troubleshoot system issues, and optimize performance to ensure reliability.
- Lead system enhancements, configurations, and integrations with POS, E-commerce, WMS, and reporting systems.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop solutions, perform testing, and support production deployment.
- Maintain strong controls, auditability, and data accuracy across merchandising and financial processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and system upgrades.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 12+ years of experience required; Passport number is a must.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with JDA MMS on AS400/IBM i.
- Strong knowledge of retail merchandising processes and best practices.
- Experience with RPG/CL, SQL, batch jobs, and system integrations is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead troubleshooting, upgrades, and production support in large-scale retail environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Additional Information:
This is a long-term contract position based in Phoenix, AZ. The role offers a rate of $55/hr on a C2C basis. Candidates must possess a passport number. The position requires a deep understanding of retail operations and the ability to manage complex AS400/IBM i systems.
