Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Vulnerability Management Engineer to join our cybersecurity team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of vulnerability management, ensuring that our enterprise infrastructure remains resilient against emerging threats. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate security weaknesses across diverse environments, including on-premises servers, cloud platforms, and containerized systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with service providers to fine-tune patch and vulnerability management tools, focusing on improving coverage and minimizing false positives/negatives.
  • Manage and optimize patching cycles for Windows servers and workstations, ensuring the timely deployment of critical security updates.
  • Actively verify, test, and apply security patches across production and non-production environments to maintain system integrity.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure strict compliance with internal security standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated PowerShell scripts to automate patching workflows and system management tasks.
  • Create and update comprehensive documentation for patch management procedures, system configurations, and change management records.
  • Drive vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts across servers, endpoints, and cloud-based systems.
  • Provide high-level escalation support for complex patching and workstation-related technical issues.
  • Support IT governance frameworks and adhere to established change management processes to ensure operational stability.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by investigating and mitigating emerging risks or zero-day vulnerabilities.
  • Mentor and train junior team members on advanced patching methodologies and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Generate and present detailed vulnerability management reports and metrics for leadership and audit reviews.

Technical Environment

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows server environments and endpoint patching. You will leverage your knowledge of cloud and container security (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes) to secure modern application architectures. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting is essential for driving automation and efficiency within the vulnerability management program. You will also be expected to understand web-based attack vectors and implement effective mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s digital assets.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 per year
