Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Developer to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a hybrid role that requires a technical leader capable of driving database initiatives from conception to deployment. As a Senior Database Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of complex database systems that power our enterprise applications. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving intricate data challenges while mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of robust database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop and optimize advanced ETL processes and SSIS packages to facilitate seamless data integration across heterogeneous systems.
- Act as a technical mentor for junior analysts, assigning tasks, reviewing code, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with IT Security, Project Management, and Business Integration teams to align database strategies with organizational goals.
- Maintain and upgrade existing database-driven applications, including bug fixes, system migrations, and performance tuning.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including disaster recovery plans, operating procedures, and training materials for end-users.
- Utilize SSRS to build and maintain sophisticated reports and dashboards that provide actionable business insights.
- Evaluate existing workflows and implement automation strategies to improve operational efficiency and data reliability.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in database design and development specifically with Microsoft SQL Server.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced ETL and SSIS design, development, and deployment.
- Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server replication, Always-On availability groups, and database security best practices.
- Experience with heterogeneous data integration and managing both COTS and in-house developed application databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
