Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with a robust background in Java Development to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 to 3 days per week on-site, making local residency a key requirement. The ideal candidate is not just a tester but a developer at heart who understands the intricacies of building and validating complex data pipelines and APIs within an AWS environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of large-scale systems through advanced automation and rigorous testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate the testing of APIs using RestAssured within a cloud-native AWS environment.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for complex data pipelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD lifecycle.
- Work extensively with AWS services including Lambda, S3, and EC2 to support testing infrastructure.
- Utilize Kafka for real-time data stream validation and performance monitoring.
- Analyze large data sets to identify anomalies and ensure data integrity across systems.
- Participate in architectural reviews to provide input on testability and system design.
- Maintain high standards of code quality for both application and test codebases.
Technical Requirements
The successful candidate must have 6+ years of experience in software development and testing. A strong foundation in Java is essential, as you will be expected to write and review production-level code. Deep expertise in RestAssured for API automation and a thorough understanding of AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2) are mandatory. Experience with Kafka and handling large-scale data sets is highly prioritized. You should be comfortable working in an Agile environment and possess the communication skills necessary to articulate technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Interview and Onsite Expectations
This position requires a Face-to-Face (F2F) interview as part of the final selection process. Candidates must be local to the Phoenix, Arizona area or willing to relocate immediately to meet the hybrid work requirements. The role involves significant onsite collaboration, requiring 2-3 days in the office each week. This proximity allows for closer integration with the development and product teams, fostering a culture of quality and rapid feedback. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be a key liaison between the QA and Development departments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $175,000 per year
