Overview of the Junior Test Analyst Role
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Test Analyst to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, AZ. This is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring professional to contribute to the critical AMP Program, specifically focusing on Network functionality. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced Test Manager, gaining invaluable insights and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Key Responsibilities and Contributions
- Test Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop comprehensive test strategies, detailed test plans, and essential execution artifacts. This includes understanding project requirements and translating them into effective testing approaches.
- Product and Technology Understanding: Build and leverage a deep understanding of the products and technology assets under test. This ensures optimal test coverage and the identification of potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside test engineers to foster a high-performing team environment. Contribute to bringing consistency to testing approaches and artifacts, ensuring efficient execution across various initiatives.
- Infrastructure Partnership: Partner with application architects and environment operations teams on the design and implementation of robust test infrastructure, ensuring it meets the demands of complex testing scenarios.
- Code Quality Assurance: Collaborate with software, infrastructure, and QA engineers to deliver target code quality, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Product Owners and Release Train Engineers to review test scenarios, validate test results, and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Quality Metrics Design: Design and implement quality metrics to be gathered, collated, and reported to senior leadership. This involves creating clear, actionable reports that highlight key performance indicators.
- Innovation and Improvement: Identify patterns and opportunities from collected metrics to drive continuous innovation and improvement within the testing processes and overall product development lifecycle.
- Guidance and Automation: Provide guidance to engineering teams, specifically driving improvements in automation and testing within a Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration (CD/CI) environment.
- Technology Adoption: Identify and advocate for opportunities to adopt innovative testing technologies and techniques, keeping the team at the forefront of industry advancements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A strong desire to learn and grow within the field of software quality assurance and testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with network functionality concepts is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
