Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and PMP-certified Project Manager to lead complex IT projects for the City of Tempe. This role involves overseeing project lifecycles, managing teams, controlling budgets, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and CJIS standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ERP system implementation and excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead complex, integrated IT projects from planning to execution, providing oversight and direction.
  • Team Management: Supervise technical workgroups, establish schedules and workflows, manage hiring, onboarding, and training, and implement performance management.
  • Budget & Procurement: Prepare and administer workgroup budgets and manage purchases.
  • Technical Oversight: Develop standards, design and architect complex solutions (voice, data, network), oversee network performance, and ensure cybersecurity and compliance.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, department leadership, and manage vendors for enterprise-wide deployments.
  • Documentation: Create technical documentation, including system architecture and troubleshooting procedures.

Must-Haves:

  • PMP Certification (copy required for client submission).
  • Experience implementing an ERP system from start to finish. Experience with Financials ERP is preferred, but any ERP implementation experience will be considered.
  • Candidate must be local at the time of submission and available for an in-person interview.
  • Hybrid work model: 1 day in-office, 4 days remote.

  • The role is for the City of Tempe, located in Phoenix, AZ.
  • The project duration is approximately 6 months.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year

Location: Phoenix, AZ
