Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Lead to drive the migration of enterprise data platforms from Oracle ODS/ODI to Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Ellucian Banner SIS/ODS along with hands-on leadership in modern cloud data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration of Oracle ODS/ODI workloads to Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse).
- Redesign and modernize ETL/ELT pipelines for Fabric-native architecture.
- Analyze and migrate data integrations from Ellucian Banner SIS & Banner ODS.
- Define data models, architecture, and best practices for scalable data platforms.
- Manage offshore teams, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to maintain reporting and analytics continuity.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, including cloud migrations.
- Strong expertise in Oracle ODS, ODI, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner SIS and Banner ODS (mandatory).
- Experience with reporting tools such as Cognos / Argos.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL frameworks.
- Experience managing offshore teams in a distributed delivery model.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Higher Education technology environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub).
- Exposure to data governance and modern data platform best practices.
Special Requirements
Domain: Higher Education (Banner ODS/SIS). Relocation Required. USC, GC, GCEAD, H4EAD.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
