Job Title: Azure Data Engineer Microfabric lead
We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer with a focus on Microfabric leadership to join our team. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Azure data services and a proven track record of implementing data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Fabric, and Azure Synapse Analytics. The ideal candidate will also have strong Power BI integration skills and a solid understanding of SQL and data modeling principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Fabric.
- Implement and manage data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Integrate Power BI with Azure Fabric for advanced reporting and visualization.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
- Apply strong data modeling techniques to ensure efficient and scalable data structures.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of big data solutions within the Azure ecosystem.
- Understand and apply ETL/ELT frameworks for data transformation and loading.
- Ensure adherence to data governance best practices and implement security measures within Azure data services.
- Lead and mentor junior data engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure data services.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Fabric pipelines.
- Proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Strong experience integrating Power BI with Azure Fabric.
- Advanced SQL and data modeling skills.
- Experience in data warehousing and big data solutions.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Understanding of data governance and security principles in Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
This is a contract position based in Chicago, IL. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of $70. We are looking for candidates who can start immediately and contribute to critical data initiatives. Keywords include business intelligence and Illinois.
