Role Overview
The Planview SPM Consultant will be a pivotal figure in our digital transformation journey, specifically focusing on Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). As organizations in 2026 move away from traditional project-based funding toward continuous value delivery, this role ensures that strategic objectives are seamlessly translated into executable roadmaps. You will be responsible for the end-to-end configuration and optimization of Planview SPM modules, including Portfolios, Roadmaps, Outcomes, and OKRs. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in integration frameworks and a deep understanding of business strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Planview SPM solutions that align with enterprise-level strategic goals and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Develop complex integrations using REST APIs and JSON to connect Planview with critical ecosystem tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, SAP, and Workday.
- Utilize scripting languages like JavaScript and Python to automate data handling, workflow notifications, and cross-platform synchronization.
- Build advanced data visualizations and custom dashboards to provide executive leadership with real-time insights into resource capacity and demand management.
- Lead data migration and transformation efforts, ensuring high data integrity across legacy systems and the new Planview environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority technical issues related to Planview configuration and system performance.
- Provide architectural guidance on the scalability of the Planview platform within a global enterprise context.
Technical Requirements
Candidates must possess at least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically with Planview SPM or Planview Portfolios. A strong proficiency in REST APIs and JSON is non-negotiable, as the role involves heavy integration work with Jira and ServiceNow. Experience with scripting for automation (Python/JavaScript) is essential for managing data handling at scale. We are looking for individuals who understand the nuances of resource capacity planning and demand management in a fast-paced corporate environment. Preferred candidates will hold a Planview Certified Developer or Architect credential, demonstrating a mastery of the platform’s latest features and best practices.
Strategic Impact
In this role, you are not just a configurator; you are a strategic advisor. You will help the organization bridge the gap between high-level strategy and ground-level execution. By automating workflows and ensuring data sync processes are robust, you enable the business to pivot quickly in response to market changes. Your work in building custom reports will directly influence investment decisions and resource allocation across the entire enterprise. This is a high-visibility role that offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge SPM technology and drive meaningful change in how the company delivers value to its customers.
