Role Overview: Senior SQL Developer
Visionary Innovative Technology Solutions LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior SQL Developer with a deep background in Unix Shell Scripting and the Banking Domain. This is a critical hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, requiring Day 1 onsite presence. The successful candidate will join a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining and evolving complex financial systems, specifically focusing on Money Transfer Systems and Payment Platforms. With the financial landscape of 2026 demanding higher throughput and lower latency, your expertise in optimizing SQL/PLSQL and automating backend processes via Unix will be paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL queries to support large-scale banking transactions.
- Develop and maintain robust Unix Shell scripts for batch processing, data migration, and system automation.
- Manage and troubleshoot enterprise web application architectures, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Utilize IBM MQ and Solace for reliable messaging and integration across distributed banking systems.
- Orchestrate complex batch jobs using Control-M, ensuring timely execution of financial reports and data syncs.
- Monitor system health and performance using enterprise tools such as Dynatrace, CA APM, and SiteScope.
- Lead technical teams through complex project lifecycles, providing mentorship and architectural guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Manage IT service requests and incidents through Service Now, maintaining strict adherence to SLAs.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in application development, specifically within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
- Expert-level proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
- Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments and advanced Shell Scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.).
- Proven experience with middleware technologies including IBM MQ and Solace.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring suites (Dynatrace, SiteScope) and ITSM tools (Service Now).
- Solid understanding of modern web application architectures and Agile methodologies.
Domain Expertise & Soft Skills
Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of Money Transfer Systems and Payment Platform exposure. In the 2026 market, the ability to navigate regulatory compliance and security protocols within the banking sector is essential. Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
