Role Overview
Tek Inspirations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior GCP Data Engineer for a long-term contract position. This role is based in Chicago, IL, with remote flexibility, focusing on building and operating sophisticated data pipelines within a distributed systems environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional experience in data engineering and a deep mastery of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. You will be responsible for maintaining data storage solutions and ensuring the seamless flow of data across various platforms to support business intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, high-performance data pipelines using GCP BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Spanner.
- Architect and implement complex data workflows and orchestration using Apache Airflow to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Write clean, high-quality, and maintainable code in Python and SQL to process and transform massive datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deploy data-centric applications in production settings.
- Apply advanced data modeling techniques to structure data for optimal performance and scalability.
- Implement data security and privacy strategies to protect sensitive information and comply with industry regulations.
- Communicate technical insights and data-driven findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through effective visualization.
- Optimize distributed storage and processing platforms to handle evolving business requirements and data volumes.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of total experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Expert-level proficiency in GCP BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Spanner.
- Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL Server experience.
- Proven track record of building and operating data pipelines with Apache Airflow.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, data lakes, and modern data schemas.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques to present complex data insights.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $235,000 per year (Estimated)
