Role Overview: Senior Tableau Developer (Banking Operations)
Themesoft Inc is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tableau Developer to join our client’s banking operations team in Chicago, IL. This is a critical onsite contract position that requires a deep understanding of financial data visualization and regulatory reporting. As we move into 2026, the demand for real-time, actionable insights in the banking sector has never been higher. This role is designed for a professional who can bridge the gap between complex data engineering and executive-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Scope
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Tableau dashboards and reports that support core banking operations, including KPIs, SLAs, and mandatory regulatory reporting.
- Focus on transaction processing, payments and settlements, loan servicing, reconciliations, and operational risk management visualizations.
- Build intuitive, high-performance visualizations following industry best practices for usability, scalability, and performance optimization in a high-concurrency environment.
- Integrate Tableau seamlessly with enterprise-grade data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, and various data lakes.
- Create and maintain complex data extracts, calculated fields, parameters, and Level of Detail (LOD) expressions to ensure data accuracy.
- Partner closely with data engineering teams to validate data quality, lineage, and the consistency of business definitions across the organization.
- Translate intricate operational and regulatory requirements into compliant reporting solutions that align with banking controls, audit standards, and data privacy laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Business Analysts, Risk, Compliance, and Technology to gather requirements and present insights to senior leadership.
- Provide comprehensive Tableau user support, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.
- Continuously optimize existing dashboards, automate manual reporting processes, and stay current with the latest Tableau enhancements and financial services trends.

Special Requirements

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $178,000 per year (Estimated)
