Role Overview
The IT Technical Specialist (SAP SCM) is a senior-level position dedicated to providing high-level technical expertise and strategic direction in the development, implementation, and support of complex application systems. This role is critical for driving efficiency in supply chain processes through advanced SAP configurations and integrations. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring that all implementations are cost-effective and aligned with global corporate standards. Core Expertise and Technical Requirements
- Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of SAP SCM modules, specifically Production Planning (PP), Production Execution, Quality Management (QM), and Warehouse Management (WM).
- Extensive experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration, facilitating seamless data exchange between shop floor operations and the enterprise ERP.
- Proven expertise in integrating SAP with Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure product compliance and operational excellence.
- Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA environments, with a focus on optimizing supply chain workflows and leveraging the latest system capabilities.
- Strong technical background in configuration, code review, solution testing, and system validation within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate requirements-gathering workshops to define project scope, technical specifications, and resource estimations for global initiatives.
- Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of integrated technical solutions.
- Execute and manage highly complex or specialized global projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide end-to-end technical support, including system configuration, user training, and post-implementation hypercare.
- Serve as a technical lead or subject matter expert for major programs, driving innovation and continuous process improvements.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies and provide strategic advice to senior leadership regarding their potential business impact.
- Review and validate system designs, monitor performance metrics, and manage capacity planning and system upgrades.
- Ensure strict adherence to corporate and divisional policies, maintaining comprehensive project documentation such as change requests and validation scripts.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related business discipline.
- A minimum of 10 to 13 years of professional experience in SAP SCM process areas, showing a clear progression of technical leadership.
- Prior experience in the Healthcare or Life Sciences industry is highly preferred due to the specific regulatory and operational requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships in a global matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and the resolution of complex system issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of business processes, service requirements, and the operational culture of a large-scale enterprise.
Working Conditions and Location
This position is located in Chicago, IL, and is strictly open to local profiles. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the Chicago metropolitan area to facilitate on-site collaboration as required. The role involves working with global teams across various time zones, requiring flexibility and strong interpersonal skills. Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
