Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced Java Developer with React skills for a contract position in Chicago, IL. This role requires a minimum of 12 years of experience, with a strong emphasis on API development, microservices, and cloud-native design. Prior experience within the banking domain (JPMC, Fidelity, Goldman, UBS, Charles Schwab, State Street, etc.) is a significant advantage. The candidate should possess AWS knowledge and experience with Kafka.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust Java applications.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Utilize React for front-end development and integration.
- Apply cloud-native design principles and best practices.
- Leverage AWS services for scalable and reliable solutions.
- Implement and manage messaging queues using Kafka.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of professional experience as a Java Developer.
- Proficiency in Java and associated frameworks.
- Strong experience in API development and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native design principles.
- Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Experience with Kafka.
- Experience with React for front-end development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the banking domain (e.g., JPMC, Fidelity, Goldman, UBS, Charles Schwab, State Street).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
